Are you living with a tooth that is damaged or failing? This can be a source of discomfort and embarrassment.
The good news is that there are excellent solutions for repairing or replacing teeth that are compromised. At Tryon Family Dentistry we have the technology to do this in a comfortable and efficient manner.
SINGLE VISIT CROWNS
The process of completing a crown in the past was a long one. It required at least two long visits to your dentist, a wait time of two to four weeks for your restorations to be completed, and an unreliable temporary crown you wore while you waited for your permanent crown to be completed.
Many patients found this process inconvenient for their schedules and their lifestyle.
Tryon Family Dentistry has been using CEREC technology for over 13 years to deliver high quality crowns and bridges in only one short appointment at both our locations.
This innovative technology completely streamlines the process of completing a crown by using 3-D technology to scan an image of your compromised tooth. Our doctors use this image to design and customize your crown before sending it on to our in-office milling system.
Your crown is fabricated from high-quality porcelain while you wait, and you’ll leave your appointment with a fully functioning and beautiful restoration you can rely on for years to come.
WHY DO I NEED A DENTAL CROWN?
A crown can restore a tooth that’s been fractured, injured, or damaged by replacing your entire tooth structure with a porcelain restoration custom designed to mimic your tooth in form, function, and shade. A crown also keeps your natural root intact and protected. When your new tooth is completed, you’ll be able to eat, chew, brush, and floss easily once again.
- A crown is typically recommended in these situations:
- To strengthen a tooth that’s been weakened by root canal therapy
- To restore a tooth that has been fractured or cracked
- To replace an old filling that is large, weak, or broken down
- To add esthetics to a tooth when a veneer is not an option
INLAYS AND ONLAYS
Inlays and onlays are best described as customized fillings. They are made with our CEREC technology, designed specifically for your tooth, and bonded directly to it. This makes them a very durable choice for restoring a tooth that has been compromised by decay, chips, or fractures.
Inlays and onlays provide better longevity than composite resin fillings, and they’re designed to last for many years.
